  1. Create an Avatar on the Main Grid

  2. Activate the avatar and enter Second Life (you will be required to go through the orientation activities)

  3. Contact the following organization for a Background check (there is a charge for this service):

  4. Once you receive clearance, contact the credit union for final steps

This may be one of the more interesting things you can do with your Avatar. The whole Purpose of Second Life is just that, create a image of your self any way you want, it's your "Second Life". If you are an educator, you may want to encourage interested students to continue lengthy makeovers at home, so you can move classroom exercises along.

Once you are satisfied with the look of your avatar, you will need to learn how to move about. You will learn how to walk and run, how to sit and manipulate objects in your environment, how to drive a car and how to fly.

In addition to the various ways of moving about the Island, there are a series of "teleport maps" to move you from place to place on the island more quickly.

After all , this is a Social Network. You will have a variety of opportunities to interact with other avatars, so you need to, you need to learn how to communicate. If you are an educator in a classroom setting, you may want to have your students disable the voice chat while in class to reduce unnecessary distractions.

In order to inspect things in the game and on the island, you should learn how to Zoom into objects and take pictures of anything that interests you. You should be able to zoom right up to any object on the island so yo can examine the specific detail of any objects you interact with. Mastering this will definitely help you learn more about your surroundings.
